1995 Corvette headlight motor problem

I recently purchased a 1995 (LT1) corvette and have been having problems with the headlight actuators running a couple of seconds after the headlight are up (and down). The sound is like a knock and it happens each time the headlights are turned off or on and even when the parking lights are on. Has anyone had this type of problem and what can be done to correct it? There is no problem with the motors engaging the headlights...only the knocking sound afterwards.

boy it sure sounds like the gears are fixin to go but id get a second opinion.

I have the same problem. Sounds like the teeth on the gears are preventing motor from reaching home position. Too cold to look at mine but I'm sure its not too complicated.
