Actually, the 3 in LS3 looks slightly photo-shopped to me (note the right edge of the character is just a bit wavy) but something like this makes sense. GM needs to bump up the power a bit and another 12 cubes would add about 15 HP right there, and using the LS3 would consolidate engines among models, reducing cost. Would not be surprised if they left it at a 415-425 HP rating though - they can get more of course, but they might want to leave room for the future (and leave a significant margin to gain for buyers to gain by moving up to the LS7).

Looks like photoshop. But, the 2008 vette will not have an LS2 they will come with a 6.2L 420HP motor.

6.2 liter -- that's the LS3.

It is real. 430hp, 436 with optional z06 like exhaust (2.5 in vs 3in)
Corvette Museum site has lots of info. It was unveiled at the C5/C6 bash this weekend. The manual was reworked, much smoother. Also a6 gets revised shifting, much faster shifts etc. Was a good event this year.
