72 convertible door glass

Hi. My brother in law just bought a 72 convertible and the door glass doesn't meet at the soft top or sides. The driver's door is worse, and it stops about 1/2" from the convertible top weather strip. The windows are non-power and appear to be all of the way out of each door when up. What a way to get a bath in the rain!

Is there a way to adjust the glass, or is something wrong with the top? The soft top is brand new and seems to fit the car perfect. It also has a hard top, but I have not seen it on the car to know if the glass fits to its weather strip. The car is an early production 72, somewhere around # 10800.

I have a 73 convertible and have the same kind of problem but not so severe. I had a new top put on and talked to a few corvette body shops and they tell me they can adjust the window to fit close but without rebuilding the whole window unit it will always just about fit.
