It seems that when I brake or give it gas the rear-end vibrates. My friend told me it might be the DIFFERENTIAL. I also hear some grinding/rubbing sound from the differential.

How much would that run for repairs? Any info would be great. Thanks

I see the rebuild differential in my wish book catalog $ 899.00 plus your core.

Check your half-shaft u-joints before you go spending lots of $$$ on a differential. :) If the sound is louder when turning left or right while accelerating, that would indicate half-shafts. $15 u-joints are definitely cheaper than $500-$1000 rebuilt differentials.
If you are getting noise/vibration at speed when you let off of the gas (when the transmission is working to slow you down), it could be a pinion bearing in the diff. If the gears are OK, you can sometimes get away with just the bearing set. If there is too much wear, buying the "lump" is alot easier than trying to rebuild the one you have in most cases.

I, also, think it is a joint in your half shaft. Might also, why you are at it check your driveshaft u joints.
