84 carpeting passenger side

How do you remove the passenger knee pad which is below the crash pad. So that new carpet can be glued on. I have removed two nuts from studs under dash but pad won't come out. Didn't have this problem on the drivers side. Thanks Tom

that is a bitch to do, if i were you spray some 3m on the plate and shove the carpet under the lip first and then press on,that is how i did it.i used a brush to apply the glue around the lip.
