84 digi dash issues.. ideas?

My 84 digi dahs is driving me nuts..
 
When I put the key in the car the dig display shows the voltage,, when I start the car, I see no volts, no oil, no water temp, My speedo is 0 and tach is 0.
 
All the lights work normallly and are bright,, in fact when I put the key in at first , it seems like it is running a test before you start, like the RPM and speedo moving around a bit...
 
I have looked for a ground,, I found one, reground it, same thing. in fact if I take the ground off, nothing works at all..
 
Does anyone have any ideas what to llok for or possible cause... No readings from anything on the dash show up... Help

If you dash works fine with just the ignition ON, that's a clue to your problem, but I still don't know where to tell ya' to go with it. These c4a's all have problems with the digital cluster.

well, I purchased a refurbed digi dahs, installed it and everything works now....

problem solved
