You know, I've had this thing about 3 years now and i do like the car. I think i was about 8 in the early 60s when I guess I discovered something other than myself

. I recall it being a white 64 or 65 coupe down the street. Been following them ever since.
I'm not much of a fan on the 84's up into the early 2000's but these Stingrays are eye catchers. It can be a POS driving down the road and people are not going to look at it as a POS but as a "corvette."
I paid 8k for mine and I get a lot of people talking on it and how nice it is and middle age crisis and all the crap because its a vette. Had I spent 8k on a Dodge Neon, nobody gives a darn. know whada mean?

I also remember like yesterday the first 'Vette that really caught my eye. Also as a kid in the early 60s, a guy named "Bumper" D'Witt, the name "Bumper" was due to his being a car nut. His people had alot of money and just down the street from our house, he had his 'Vette parked one early Sunday morning when I walked by; A red '64 or '65 convertible w/ a white top and interior. The head lights were still opened. The car was parked on Grand Street, must have been a relative's house, as Grand Street was all the old Italians who spoke little english. I stopped and looked at the car for about ten minutes. I had heard about the car being around and I knew it had the 327/365 in it. Just standing there looking at it was exciting to me. There just weren't many of those around then. There were afew pre-'63s in the area at that time. Bumper's cousin, Charlie Devitto, had a new XKE Jaguar, gold w/ tan convertible top and interior. I got a ride in that car, and it ran like heck. The straight 6 cylinder in the XKE was a runnin' motor and that car was fast on the big end. Those really were the early "hay days" f/ the 'Vette. Thanks f/ the great memories.
