I have been looking to buy a new C5 for a month now and have done all my homework and legwork and know just about everything to look for and such for buying this car.  I do however have one question I am rather stumped on.  I see quite a few people advertising burgandy Vettes, but from my understanding, burgandy was not color option for the 2001 and 2002 production year.  Is this color called something else by GM?

The Monterey Red is about as close to burgundy as you're going to get in the C6 line.  In the C5 line, the 2003AE Coupe is about as close as you will get to a burgundy color.

Good luck with your search...

I agree. The AE (Anniversary Edition) red in 2003 is very close. Magnetic red (my 2001 color) looks like burgundy ONLY when it is nighttime.

Unless it was repainted, yes it would be the Magnetic Red for that year.  Earlier years it was a little darker and called Carmine Red.

Chevrolet called it Anniversary red, I call mine Burgandy. It only looks red when in the bright sun.
