i pod for idiots 101

07 z06 2lz radio no nav,sat. expired. go slow cuz i,m the idiot. the radio sucks so ive seen [heard] an ipod ,my pal had an adaptor that tune to an fm station on my car and he played his ipod on it.i,m thinking an i pod that can hold 2000 songs ,should i put a jack for the ipod in the car ,play through cig. lighter,or the remote fm transmitter.i dont know what brand, type etc.my knowledge of audio/vidio is ,well i broke a computors face plate looking for the slot to see what sound card it had.why they dont call it a board is beyond me.so go slow explaining stuff eg. if i need a hammer dont tell me to get a potencial mass driver .    tank you
