After posting my last thread about the "Useful Information", there were questions about locating the front Rebar in order to obtain the buildsheet. I researched this topic and found that you need to pull the front bumper/facia off the car in order to reach it. (it's over on the passenger side by the way) That actually requires several hours worth of work, plus there's no guarantee it will be in good condition.
So instead of going through all that trouble,.....keep the original for later and just order yourself a brand new one from the National Corvette Museum. The museum copy is exact in every detail, and a lot easier to get to.....
unless, you want to spend those few hours disassembling your front bumper/facia and foam padding. Even then you're likely to get a stained, fragile, and/or barely ligible copy...
If you order the Buildsheet, replacement Window Sticker, Dealer Brochure, and Black Book all together, they give you a $5 discount. It's not much, but oh well. Here's that link for anyone interested.
https://store.corvettemuseum.com/services/buildsheet.asp Some of the prices are as follows........
Build Sheet - $40 Additional Copy - $8
Window Sticker - $35 Additional Copy - $12
Dealer Brochure - 1998 - $1.00 It shows 2004-2006 @ $24.95
Black book - $15
Get the Buildsheet and/or Window Sticker laminated for $5 each
Shipping and Handling - $5
I hope this helps anyone who's interested. I know I'm going to order it all for my own personal records, since I didn't receive any of it from the previous owner.
