I went to a car meet a few weeks ago and this guy in a "stock" evo IX wanted to race me. He claimed stock everything. We went on a clear road and raced from a 45 mph roll. I was in second gear should have been in first. Well I beat him by about 2 cars; he wanted to race again so we did from about 35. I was in second gear again and he beat me by about 1 car. This is what doesn't add up. His car should only be putting down 230is hp and my car puts down 460ish hp. The cars weigh about the same. Here is the kicker. I raced my buddy that has an evo XIII that puts down 360ish hp and walked him by more than 2 cars. Is there any way the guy with the evo IX is stock? I think I got played, anyone else agree with me?

What year was the evo? 2006 thru 2008 put out 286hp. The evo does have a 4.5:1 final drive ratio. Still, It seems like you should have won. Maybe it was just the bad gear selection on your part for the second run but 2nd seems right for a 45mph start. How far did you race?
On the other hand, you were duped.

The first race I beat him. Also it doesn't put 286hp to the ground. I would say about 220-240 hp to the ground. Im laying down about 460hp to the ground. I think hes full of sh!t and a few other people feel the same way. He also hung with a modded 996 (I think 996, I dont know the model numbers, its an 04 though) porsche twin turbo. That thing lays down 520 hp, so its amazing I beat him in the first place.
