vapor lock

my 1977 vette runs great intill it gets hot. the fuel line is also hot. then it runs like theres a vacum leak is this vapor lock? yes i will move the fuel line soon.i smell gas when i shut off car.there is no leak any where. then it is hard to start.

I'm on here investigating the same problem. On going, have tried everything we can think of....still...dies and doesn't want to start...anyone?

This problem bugs me, one would think if your fuel pump is good and the filters clean, you would have a constant supply of fuel. When the engine quits pour a cap full a gas down the carb.

i moved fuel line far away from headers.put a thick gasket from edelbrock under the carb to keep the heat away from the bottom of carb.it seems to work much better.now i have to replace intake gasket, oil splashing out on back side. the under hood heat is crazy hot.i have a clothes pin on fuel line it supose to help.

Hard starts when warm, gas smell, excessive heat.....sounds like timing is way out of adjustment
