Hi guys!
I'm new to the board. I'm posting for my neighbor. He has a 1967 'vette with a stock 350. He just had Vintage Air installed in the car by a Vintage Air certified guy. It now overheats.
He has upgraded the radiator to a Dewitt Aluminum and installed a pair of SPAL fans (one in front, one in back) and it's still running hot.
Is this a common issue or are we the first to run into it?
If so, what's have you guys done to resolve it?
Thanks,
Hal
Hi Chets67, how did your car run before? Did you put on new radiator hoses? They can cave in under suction. Have you tried a higher temp thermostat? Mabye a 190 would help. Last, Ecklers sells a high flow water pump.

Get ahold of the installer, make him fix it. After all, he is certified to make it right!

He is using two electric fans on this car which is not doing anything more than running one. If you run an electric fan pushing and one pulling you are not getting anymore effiencency than one fan. He first needs to take the fan off the back side and put an mechanical fan back on and use the electric as assistance. Also does the car run hot on the freeway or just city driving?
