How do I tell which transmission I have in my 1998 Corvette?  It is an automatic.  Were all the transmissions the same?  Would  it be the 4L60E transmission?  Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all of the Auto Trannys are the same, the difference was the rear-end gear ratio. There was a standard ratio, and there was also a performance ratio. Now I'm not sure what the exact ratios were, but I'm sure Lee or mech can answer that question.

I dont think they made any performance gear in the auto since the rear ends werent as strong as the M6 cars.

I think the auto came with a 2.73 ratio rear axle and an optional performance ratio fo 3.15.  The M6 came with a 3.42.
