I put a K&N in my paltry LT1 today. Then I took a ride, and put the pedal to the wood

for the first time since I bought this thing. Talk about havin' to take a deep breath!!!
OH MY GOODNESS!

And I thought my L98 was a strong twister. WHEW! 0 engine tweeks thus far too. Except the K&N. I can't imagine what some of you guys' machines with LS1 does!
Does the filter really power up a V8??? 12 extra HP? 15?

Typically, a K&N and a new lid add only about 3-5 RWHP. But that is compared to a clean, stock, air cleaner. Compared to an old and dirty filter -- particularly some no-name budget filter, they might produce 10-12 HP more, enough power to actually feel.

I know it does if you follow through with the cut-out mod.

Not a problem.
Good stuff. I saw that link posted here recently, but didn't hit it. This time I did, and the site host said after he hacked his airbox, he couldn't tell a difference. That's a surprise to me, as it seems to have been with him. I might go there, after I fix the leak in this heap

. Legs have been un-cooperative the last two days, from that hit last year.
How's the back there?

Thanks for askin'
Not real good... Lot's of pain 24/7 even with the narcotics
Attorney keeps telling me "it should be any day now" (3 years).
I would think cutting it out would HAVE to allow more air in. Therefore, better flow, etc...
Still waiting on my polished alternator so I can't even drive my baby
I know, I know, I could have just bought one at AdvancedAuto.
But this one LOOKED sooooo coool
Keep the wave alive

Damn Dave, didn't know you were involved in a train wreck.
Figured you didn't want to talk about it otherwise you would have elaborated.
Tried to Google the incident and couldn't come up with much
My sympathies bro...

As train wrecks go, it weren't so bad. Nobody killed or really
seriously injured. Bent up a heck of a lot of steel though!
It was a rear-ender, another train's caboose unded up on top of our engine, er...uh....our engine ended up under the other train's caboose. Anyway, I think I'll remember it for a long time to come. I have a little reminder that sneeks up behind me and let's me have it, around the lower lumbar region, and C-1, 2 and 3. But hey, it's all good, I'm here.

( and I can drive too!

)
When I say, "Ah ain't felt this good, in twenty years.", I don't mention, the wreck was 31 years ago.
