View Full Version : WELCOME EVERYONE!!
bmbndb 04-30-2005, 04:47 PM Welcome to CorvetteForums.com everyone!! Post and let us know a little bit about you...
My name is Amanda and I am 24 living in Michigan. I have a house full of animals and one 4.5 year old son. I live with the love of my life, not married, but one day. :)
I have loved Corvette's since I was little and my dad and uncle tinkered with a mid 70's Vette that my uncle owned. When I was 5 and 6, they let me "help" fix it. LOL! I'm not lucky enough to own one... yet.
Anyway... that's a little about me... let's hear about you!! :)

ViperGTS 04-30-2005, 11:15 PM My name's Matt and I'm a 17 year old Dodge Viper fan from Maryland (don't worry, I'm not here to flame Vettes, I also like the Corvettes as well but not as much.) I've admired Vettes ever since I saw the Z06 and thought, "WOW" that's a nice car. My parents are divorced and I'm with my mom so we rarely talk cars.... thusly I joined other forums such as this one (I wouln't mention any specific forums, sorry) Anyways, I hope to have some good discussions about the Vette =)

The do in fact have a white top option...I have always preferred the tan though, I think it looks much more "finished."

Patrick 05-07-2005, 06:20 PM my dads red 64 had a white top...white and read leather...man it was sweet...he sold it to some moron who pulled and 4 speed out and put an automatic in, then wrecked it.
LVMichief 05-08-2005, 03:57 PM Hi there,
I just ran across this site and decided to say hi. I'm 29 and purchased my first new car, a 2003 Covette March 21 of 2003. Looking to make some minor additions to it, so hopefully I can find some guidance here. She only has 617 miles on it in 2 years, as I'm scared one of our insane Vegas drivers will smash into me..lol! If I can get past that hurdle, maybe I can finally enjoy her like I should be!
pilot1996 05-08-2005, 04:23 PM LVMichief,
Glad you found us, that sure is a nice "first" new car! You will love it, promise. There are so many things you can do to it cosmetically...it's never ending. As for performance, look at changing the intake and the exhaust first, it's going to give you the most bang for your buck![sm=smiley20.gif]

Patrick 05-08-2005, 05:22 PM welcome to the site!!!
i agree with mac 100%...intake and exhaust are always the best early mods...not real expenive, and wont compromise the daily drivability!
SilverC5Z 05-08-2005, 05:37 PM welcome to the site LV!! we are in the same boat...i also have not wanted to start changing things!
LVMichief 05-09-2005, 12:51 AM Where would you guys suggest picking up a new set of headers and exhaust. Where could I find a trusted shop to install these items? Anything in particular I should look for in selecting a business to "play" with my Corvette? Should I (no flaming) try the dealer? It needs to get the column lock recall done anyway, so it would be there. The downside is the cost of course! Will the additions of headers require modifications to the computer in anyway? I don't want to modify this more than necessary. I don't plan to ever part company with this car, so in another 60 years, she'll probably have 10,000 miles on her by then;) Thanks in advance for the guidance!
Patrick 05-09-2005, 12:55 AM i would only go to the dealer if you cant find ANYTHING else...or if you can find a dealership that specializes in vettes...we have one near my parents home that does so...it is called grabiak corvette. check your area for a speed shop...
pilot1996 05-13-2005, 01:44 AM If you are looking for headers, look at Lingenfelter or Zooks. I know people that have both, and both are equally satisfied. I'm saving for the Lingenfelters.
Can't help you with the install, though I don't know that I would do dealer. I plan on doing my own as I have an auto hobby shop on base that I can use.

Patrick 05-13-2005, 02:13 AM well, i would only go places that are bonded and stand behind their work. mostly a performance shop.
LVMichief 05-21-2005, 02:39 AM I checked the dealer for grins and giggles when I had the column lock repair on my MN6. They quoted me $600 labor to install the usual stainless Borla!!! Outrageous!
Patrick 05-21-2005, 12:37 PM borla systems can be a bit of a pain to install, but not 600 dollars with of a pain...[:@]
