Is it just me or is this a little much for 55HP? Hennessey Z06 (http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hennesseyperformance/ItemDetail.php?Item_ID=254&cart=CUovRCas&%20DoThis=Chevrolet+Corvette+Z06+%282006%29<br%20/>&ActionReq=Where)

It seems like an awful lot to pay for 55 Hp. Aftermarket Hp usually costs between $40 and $80 per. this is closer to $200 per.

Then, too, I'm not sure of the increase. Headers, and air box, and retuning. From what I've seen elsewhere, headers and an airbox and tuning raise rear wheel HP on the ZO6 from about 450 to about 485, or by about 7%. Hennessy is claiming a 10% increase.

One common trick of tuners (I'm not saying they are doing it) is this. The modify the car. The then test the rear wheel HP - let';s say they get 485 RWHP. they then apply the "generally aceepted" 15% losses factor to that to get a claimed flywheel, factory equivalent rating: 15% of 485 = 48.5 + 24.25 = 72.75, added to 485 = 557.75 HP.

The flaw with this is that the car didn't really have 15% flywheel to RW losses in the first place, but closer to 11% (450 RWHP to rating of 505) and so the actual HP is closer to 530.

Anyway, they will sell a few. Always someone with $10K willing to buy bragging rights.
