I have a '96 collector edition, which has the J55 big brake option(13 inch rotors instead of standard 12 inch). My front pads and travel pin screwed up with only half pad wear. The pads and back of caliper dropped onto the wheel due to pin wear. The question! I have looked for replacement pads and can't find a part specific to the J55 brakes. Are the pads the same for the 12 and 13 inch rotors?

They are the same pads. I use the PFC Carbon Metalic pads from Auto Zone. They stop great and don't dust as badly as other pads. If you are into autocrossing, then look into Summit Racing for racing pads. You can get many different formulations for specific needs.
