Mike mavidatt 11-25-2008, 01:52 AM not sure what exactly you mean, if its losing power though your cats, pre cats could be clogged up, you could either remove them and unclog them or just take them off all togeather, depending on where you live. TX Mike 11-28-2008, 10:14 PM I cannot drive car as after starting it, it will die as if it is out of gas. Mechanic checked it out and said I was not getting 12 volts out of MAF and there was a poor pulse on the injectors. Any suggestions is appreciated! Thanks!! Mike TX Mike 11-28-2008, 10:15 PM Oh, the machanic said it was not the cats. TX Mike 11-28-2008, 10:21 PM correction from previous thread : vette is not getting 12 volts to MAF partsman41 11-29-2008, 09:19 AM Was there any work done on the car just before this happened? It sorta sounds like maybe you've lost a ground connection some where near the relays. Or maybe it's as simple as a bad maf relay? Ron TX Mike 12-06-2008, 12:39 AM Finally, autozone sold me a bad ECM. Vette back on the road and running. Thanks so much for all your help!! Mike TX Mike 12-06-2008, 06:21 PM I put new ECM in and it ran good while driving it around for about 30 minutes. The next morning after running it for about 10 minutes it went back to the same problem: When I give it gas it dies! I believe it got a power surge of some kind to the ECM (probably damaging it again). Any suggestions is appreciated!! Thanks! Mike 78buckshot 12-07-2008, 06:26 AM If the car is eating ECM's I would start checking for shorted wiring and components, also check the voltage while the engine is running, low voltage will affect the capability of the ECM to handle inputs and outputs, high voltage could smoke the ECM. seen_alot 12-21-2008, 11:08 AM Sounds like injectors. Ohm the injectors, all should be near one another. A bad injector is sensed by ECM and will shut that bank down. Enough bad injectors will short out ECM. Multitecs are bad, and Ethanol makes them fail faster. If you have a bad one or two, replace ALL since its not a question of if but WHEN the others will fail. TX Mike 12-21-2008, 02:56 PM Thanks everyone for your help. Also, thanks to Jon at FIC for the bosch injectors. So for so good. Car running great. Mike |
