Hello everyone, I have just purchased a black 6 speed 2002 coupe and I didn't get the owners manual (yet!!), and it doesn't say anywhere that I can see, so what is the required octane rating? I'm not sure what compression the engine runs so please somebody, help me out:D. I love this car, and I just sold my 3000gt vr4 and thought I loved that car[sm=rolleyes.gif], well if someone will tell me how I will post pictures. Thanks.

If I remember correctly the LS1 compression is 10.5:1 and as for me I use nothing but 93 or higher octane in my vehicle.

so 10.5 compression is enough to warrant the use of premium? I don't mind it's only .20 more a gallon, but if a car doesn't need premium you actually lose power, and I want to be sure to treat her right:D. I will research it and thanks. If you fellows show me how I'll post up pics of her. (She's black[;))

My comp is 10.63:1, with iron heads and I NEED to use 93-94 with a octane booster or it will ping like a Honda.

Is that stock compression C4, or ya did a lil something to her? I would like a good link to corvette details, about engine and such, if anybody knows one. I was a vr4 owner and learned that car but now, I have something much better to study.:D

I agree that you should always use super-unleaded, unless, of course, you don't mind losing power.

Here is a link that should be able to give you more than enough information about your new toy: Click Here (http://www.corvettemuseum.com/specs/2002/index.shtml)

You have to use 93 octane. There should be a warning lable on the inside of the fule filler door, but regardless, use only premium 92 octane.
