I was on my way to get my oil changed today and about 1 mile from the Chevy dealership I had the "Service Traction System" and "Reduced Engine Power" messages come-up along with the "Check Engine" light. The thing that really sucked was the more throttle I gave it the more it just reduced the engine power so I was stuck at this red light and couldn't move. I had to sit in the middle of the road for a few minutes with the car off and then restarted it to regain engine power. So instead of just taking it in for an oil change I had to leave my car their so they can see what the problem is.:( I hate having to spend unexpected money and I have a feeling this is going to be expensive.

Traction control system is controlled by you ABS valve. Simple as fuse, complicated as ABS valve. Hope it's not the latter. $$$$$$[:o]

Well it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Apparently whoever installed the battery in my car didn't tighten the terminals completely so it wasn't getting the proper electrical connection/flow. So a simple fix and $90 later I'm back in business.

Well, since I'm a child of the 60's, I say " FAR OUT". :D

Yeah, it was $35 for the diagnostic and then I was also charged for 1/2 hour of labor, which was spent trying to find what the problem was.

it's frustrating when something so simple causes such major issues...

but then it's nice when such major issues are fixed by something so simple...

glad it worked out quick and easy.

That's the problems of the computer age, everything depends on clean tight connections, ground and power. Imagine that! Such a pristine enviroment the the electronics operate in. HA:D
