Lee Willis 05-30-2006, 01:01 AM Try the tire rack. There are many good brands and you will find people who swear by just about any brand, but I have never had problems with BFG G-force. I run 285/345s on mine - sort of extreme, but Tire rack will give you advice on what is best for you. I have not had good luck with Pirelli - had six of their high-end tires, four of which split the tread bead at around 22,000 miles. fstcars1 06-08-2006, 01:17 AM I"m new at this so here it goes I have a set of Ronal rims with BFgoodrich Gforce tires mounted on them. the rear is 295/35/19 front 275/35/18 they are brand new. I"M giving them away for 2500.00. They are somewhat pricey i believe but they were on it when i got them. They handle pretty well. My buddy just stuck a set of Nittos on his Z06 and loves them. They are more of a drag radial so much more soft but they hook up great and do good for just everyday driving. Probably wont see as much life out of the soft tire of course tho. He stuck a pair of 305's on the rear also. . a bit wider. . helps some on hook up and looks pretty good too. He got his for only $800 for the set but a dealer buddy helped him get that deal so i dont know what to tell you as far as where to go. Online is usually the best way to find the deals. Good luck. PANTHYR07 01-18-2007, 09:58 PM I heard runflats make your kidneys shake ?? I carry Rosary beads and pray I never have a flat ! Ha! 01darkz 01-22-2007, 02:39 PM personally im a nitto 555r1's on back and 555's on front they made a believer out of me when i had a 467whp lightning truck that would hook up better than any car ive ever had. i also havent had very good results with Pirelli just my .02 slvrblt 01-25-2007, 02:11 AM I just bought a set of the BFG KDW NT (also called KDW II) in the stock sizes. They hook up great! I can floor it in first gear at 30-35 and they barely spin. Its amazing (compared to my old EagleF1 Supercar tires)! I have yet to do any runs from a stand still. The tread wear is 300, so they should last a while as well. The Michelin Pilot Sport IIs are probably the best tire you can get short of drag radials. The tread wear is only 200 (or 220, I dont recall). CHEVYMETAL 02-16-2007, 02:56 AM I got me some Michelin Pilot sports and they grip twice as good as the Toyo Proxis I had on there before. Night and day difference. I was able to take a FZ1 sport bike out of the hole and all the way up to 120 on these tires. If you can afford them I would HIGHLY recommend them. I think Discount had them at $420ish but my friend hooked me up for $380 each. only part that sucks is the tread depth isnt much. 8/32" or 6/32" something shallow like that. we will see how many miles i get out of them. cwb 06-16-2007, 08:23 AM ORIGINAL: PANTHYR07 I heard runflats make your kidneys shake ?? I carry Rosary beads and pray I never have a flat ! Ha! A friend with a 2000 coupe once said the RF's are hard as your tricycle's rear tires... (aren't they solid rubber[sm=yikesomg.gif]) TripleBlackC5 10-15-2007, 08:25 PM Toyo RA-1's Go Big Or Go Home! I love them but they last about as long as the tires on my ZX6-R, and they are well over $1,400 for all corners. Might get burned for this but, when some smart ass kid in a honda pulls up and asks if those are good tires you point out the "Recommended For Track Use Only" right on the side wawll but the D.O.T. is on them. 1BadLS6 10-26-2007, 06:24 PM I have heard a lot of good things about Toyo Proxes T1-Rs. Good handling, traction, and treadwear. You can get a full set for stock size for around $750 shipped from tiredealsforless.com. I will picking up a set within the next month. |
