Dave01 07-08-2006, 10:53 PM The first thing I would do is jack up the car and take a good look underneath. Pound on the exhaust pipes to see if any are hitting body or suspension parts. Has either the tranny or rear end been worked on? Did you buy the car used? mm4705 07-10-2006, 11:05 AM Bought car new, 38K mi.,no work only sched.service and with that only differential fluid was changed. No loose exhaust.Noise is not constant. Can only hear when radio is off.Forgot to add that when in reverse, going very slow, like parking, sometimes noise is a constant clunking sometimes.Car driven normal.By that I meen tranny & rear end not banged around hot rod'n. Dave01 07-10-2006, 05:22 PM Does the frequency of the noise increase with increasing vehicle speed? I'm beginning to think the brakes, including the parking brakes, may need to be looked at if this is true. mm4705 07-10-2006, 05:30 PM Sound does not increase, only heard at slow rpm's ,10 mph.Sometimes I can fell the clunk through the shifter. |
