The remote key for the 1995 Corvette I bought is broken. Now I need to get a replacement and I'm not sure the system works so I hate to buy a replacement if the system doesn't work to begin with but I don't know how to check it out without a remote. Any suggestions. Or do I just buy a replacement remote for approx 150 and then attempt to program?
Thanks

MMM. Thats a tough call. A remote is 150? A whole new sytem for my car **viper** GREAT BRAND**** was only 175 and that came WITH a trunk popper button. I think you need to get a new sytem entirely. That way your guaranteed it works, guaranteed warranty and TWO** remot controls.

I would check e-bay. They usually have then for under a "C" Note. PKE is standard on your 95.

Do you know any other corvette owner that has a working PKE fob? It may be worth while to check with a dealer & ascertain if the system is working before spending anymore money on it.

Wouldn't go aftermarket-have seen too many electrical problems, had to remove a couple from our customers cars. Bought a 93 Ruby Coupe with an aftermarket, previous owner had lost his key fobs. Have problems with it causing batt to go dead. Removing it now and buying OE replacement from GM.
