I am looking at buying a 1982 C3 and wanting to drop in either a GM Performance 454ci or a Merlin 427ci block. My questions is what body and suspension replacements will I have to do? I don't know much about the C3 rear ends. I need something to withstand up to 800 wheel HP/TQ.

Transmission is not a problem, already have that checked. Either a built 3 or 4 speed auto with a 3500 to 4000 stall converter.


Car is going to be built for very limited street and alot of track.

umm, for 800whp, i would look for a race rearend...check with http://www.speed-eng.com/store/ for one, and if you dont see one on there, email them, as they may be able to help you out, either way...
