I finally decided to replace my sound system. I love Bose, but there's no CD player, tape player doesnt work, and radio just sucks.

Im gonna put an Alpine head in, but i need some advice on speakers. Ive heard Infinity is good, but they look like they were designed to be accompanied with a subwoofer (which i dont want cause i have no idea where it would go.)

I need something that sounds atleast as good as the Bose, particularly on the bass end, since i wont be using a subwoofer. I listen to rock, so i dont need something to rattle my liscence plate, just something to sound good. Thanks.

Rockford Fosgate 6" x 9" 4-Way Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cone (recommend highly)

Sony 6" x 9" 4-Way Car Speakers with HOP Woofer Cones (second pick)

I have been working speakers for a long time know. I own a 1986 corvette. In my opinion i would go with, JL audio, Infinity Gold speakers, or Alpine speakers. I wouldnt go with sony or rockford. By getting an alpine CD player was a good choice. But i dont know if you know that you have a built in amp in your corvette. But i would buy a 500 or 600 watt mono block amp. If you have any questions let me know

What model head did you end up going with and speakers? My Bose AM/FM tape just died and I need a economical replacement that sounds good...
