Vintage Air A/C in a 70 Corvette?
Anyone out there ever had a Vintage Air A/C system installed in a C-3?
I'm wondering what the labor would be involved in removing the original factory stuff from under the dash and putting in the new system. An approximation of how many hours labour I can expect to be charged for?
Cheers,
Trent

Welcome to the forum.
There is not a lot of stuff that you can remove under the dash because it also houses the heater system. When I bought my Corvette new, I ordered it without A/C. Soon discovered in the Midwest summers when its raining that was not a good choice. I found a salvage Corvette and pulled all the air conditioning parts off of it and put it on mine. Installing it requires a fair amount of time. Just removing the few vent connections will not require much time. I've heard that the Vintage Air systems are very good.

I downloaded the installation manuals for the various components for the Vintage Air A/C system into a 69 - 72 Vette. They are very complete and very detailed, takes you through the installation step by step with photos and drawings. I doesn't look like you have to be a rocket scientist to do it.
So this child is going to do the installation myself. Adding a BeCool radiator at the same time since I'll be working "in the neighborhood" while installing the new condenser.
I'll let you know the results.
