96 LT1 into 90 L98 whats needed is there a tread on this
i have a 96 with an LT-1 that was t boned and a 90 with a bad L-98 is there a thread for this swap? or does anyone know exactly what electronics need to be swapped out ? I was reading a thread on a LS1 swap and they mentioned something about the dash and gauges having trouble? I dont know electronics very well , but i am good with mechanical part of swap. any help on this or threads on this thanksin advance for any and all help.

well I did the ls1 swap and you have a lot of problems like motor mounting crossmember steering rack trouble driveshaft trouble hood clearence unless you do what did, but I could have also went with the FI set up instead of the carb but thn it would be as unique! ; I also have all of the stock dash and it is all functional with exception of the fuel mileage, an a six speed that was not easy to mount up at all!!!, I dont know about swaping the LT1 but im sure it is a lil bit less trouble, but a 4-5 month job to get it dont right, I spent 6 months woeking on it non-stop it seemed like every spare second that I had went to that car and it was all worth it.

I have put a 95lt1 into a 74. Yours probably won't be as bad, but I would allow more than a couple weeks. plan for the months, if it quikcer than great. Not sure on any of your gauges, as I just changed mine out. But, your whole computer system will be diffrent I beleive. If you plan on using the old wiing harness out of your 96, then okay. I went witth new wiring harness. Again, it is easier than the ls1 by far as motor mounts will be the same, and should fit in okay, but still is not going to be overnight job.
