LT1 swap for L98?
Hey.....
Did anyone ever try to do this swap? could it be done?
I have an 86 C4 coupe with aSBC 406 Brodix heads, supercharger by Carol Supercharger! It's a 500 hp.+ motor. just rebuilt...with new, crank, pistons/rings, and a superram intake..... it's still on the engine stand.
I just purchase a 94 C4 coupe with an LT1, but the motor has a topend tap and 128,000 miles for a very very cheap price!.
I want to change the whole drive train, tranny too!..... I'm a little skeptical about the electrical harnesses?...and the exhaust system? I have a brand new 3" exhaust that fit the 86 C4.
Anyinput out there?......
Happy Holiday's!

RE: LT1 swap for L98?
The engine wire harness is totally different and to covert it from L98 to LT1 is not easy. I would do my homework on any major horsepower upgrades above 400hp.The driveline support beam tends to twist and snap the bolts and the differential carrier to body mount will break under heavy stress loads. I read in another forum some guy broke the carrier support the first day out after a big hp. gain and ended up replacingthe support and beefing it up w/ aircraft grade aluminum plates. For the driveline support I found a kit, go to www.ffdoc.com/c4beamplate.htm this is good upgrade for heavy-duty service... good luck
