Default Me at the strip this saturday

All right. After alot of crap talk, challenges and of course me talkn bad about the SRT-4 I have finially managed up a race at the local strip. Mooresvill Dragway.(NC) We are doing a heads up grudge match. Same take off time. No car lenghts. Anyonne got any FREE or Cheap mods that might give me a little bit of an advantage. My gf will be watchinng and I dont want her to think I cant beat a 4 banger. After this, I can finially prove a 20 yr old automatic is still good enoughh to run with the new boys.

race in D. try to save some weight by taking out the spare tire, use the clear top if you have it, some ppl remove the front sway bar. your car has i think a 2000 or 2100 stall stock, so make sure u use that correctly. i cant think of any cheap or free mods for you, i think you've got most of them. Im not sure what cheap is to you. maybe others will chime in

I talked alot of crap to this guy because all he did was put down on me my car and corvettes in general. I am going to feel SOOO low if I get my *** whipped.Have that walk of shame and the lecture of "your car is slow you got owned by a 4 banger". Oh yea. Today I removed all existing pipe under the car now its just straight manifolds to the two empty cat shells and thats it. WOO HOO. I been up early all morning(teacher work day) messing with the car. Got it cleaned up and perty lookn.

you know i was looking on wikipedia, the srt-4 runs the 1/4 in 13.8 to 14.2, thats right about what the L98 will to, trap speeds were about the same, maybe a little higher. the car is about 400-500 lbs lighter than yours, i think that is the main advantage. I think this would be the same as if you were to race an LT1: try to get him in the start and see if that will be enough to hold him off in the last 1/8th.

That's better for you. How much track time do you have? What is your average RT? Play with tire PSI. max in the front low in the rear. You may also try coming to the line at a slight angle, this will give you more role out.

1/8 mile track?? Dude you got this in the bag. That should be no problem for a huge torque engine with mods. If you can, get a couple runs in before you race this guy, that way you get the feel. Maybe someone can help me out on this, but i think the stall is 2026 on that model, so should you try to launch at that speed?
