Default Passive Keyless Entry

Help...... Mind you this is not the first time this has happened to me before but today i was going down the road and my trunk flew opened..... i spent like 15 minutes trying to get it shut but it wouldnt. kept hearing a clicking sound.... I went and turned on the ignition and it caused it to stop and the truck was able to latch.... i also noticed that the words passive keyless entry was flashing..... i took the battery out of the remote...... can you tell me what i can do to make this not happen again? this has me very nervous now about driving it. I have a 1996 Corvette.

If the key fob can unlock the trunk, try leaving it at home. If that stops the problem then something is wrong with the fob. If not then there's something wrong with the latch circuitry.

It's the black plastic thingy (thing you called Remote) on the ring w/ the key that has the Lock & Unlock and Trunk Release and possibly Remote Start buttons on it.

Well if it did it without the battery, then it doesn't matter if you leave it at home.
