ok so heres whats up...some of the most popular muscle cars of the 60s and 70s had a landau top option, (camaros and chevelles and such) so i got a 1977 vette and i am about to paint it midnight blue metallic and run 15x8 torq thrust Ds in the back and 14x7 (ish) up front. so i wanna make a custom landau top for it (t-tops included) whaddaya think? and dont hold back if you think its a gay idea then say so!

A landau top just covered half of the top. I don't remember any muscle cars with landau tops, unless you consider a Monte Carlo a muscle car (they did put a 454 in a Monte Carlo in 71 and maybe some more years), but they really weren't considered muscle cars. I think the top you're refering to is a straight vinyl top. Landau tops were mostly found on Cadys and Town cars. You sure would be different if you covered your top with vinyl or leather. Just do like Ron Isley wrote in 1970 "It's Your Thing Do What You Wanna Do, I Can't Tell You Who To Sock It To".

 

I guess I would have to see it. When I picture it in my mind I don't like the looks. I wouldn't call it gay maybe bi.

Landau tops were popular on all cars in the late 70's but I don't ever recall seeing one on a Vette. The Landau top "craze" was started by real pimps who used all types of materials to pimp their rides which were almost exclusively Caddy's. I have seen alligator, lizard, snakeskin, and a variety of other vynl type marterials. I used to repo them all the time in th 70's.

 

so call me a pimp with a badass car, mabye i should put some 22s on it and a bitchin system i could have 12 grand of rims and rubber on a $3500corvette...id kill myself first!
