Default RE: Oil Pan

Just using the pressed pins, I'm trying to keep the cost down 'cause I'm not buildin' a race motor. My Vette has 3.08 gears so this thing won't see 6000 RPM. I am specifically puttin' it together for low RPM torque and not too concerned about HP numbers or high speed. The heads I'm using are 1.94's like the ones your thinking about, it should be a pretty good stump puller without going over $3000. The cam is a Comp Cams flat hydraulic, .447 lift, dual pattern- can't remember the duration but it's not going to be a lumpy cam. I wanted to go with a roller but couldn't justify the added expense, I did put in Comp's roller tip rockers and push rods. Also using a big block oil pump for smoother operation, Melling has the stock BB pump and the pick-up to go with a small block pan.
