Default Valve noise 2011 GS Coupe

Hi all. Just bought a 2011 GS Coupe with 11,000 miles on it. I just noticed over the last 2 weekends a definite "clicking noise" like a worn valve guide or valve clatter or injector noise coming from the engine. It happens either hot or cold but is most noticeable from 1600 RPM - 2200 RPM. I thought these engines were quiet in this range and there is no such noise at idle. I have just 2 weeks left on the 3/36 warranty and think I should get it checked out at the Chevy dealer. Thoughts? Any one else heard of this issue? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

Well I have not heard of this specific problem, I definitely would get it checked while it's still under warranty.

I took the car to my local dealership. Both the service manager and the mechanic said there is definitely valve noise or other noise that is not normal, but they said they would not work on it as it is not affecting performance. If the noise does get worse they will then dig deeper into the engine. Hmmmm...

I'd either insist that they work on it or give me an extended warranty since yours is almost gone.
