New guy.......First Vette
Tuesday I take a shuttle from Phoenix to Yuma to pick up my 99 FRC.
I had no intentions on buying a Corvette. Then the wife totaled our car. Looking at replacement cars in the price range I wanted to stay in, and not having to worry about a vehicle to haul kids, I was looking at a variety of two door cars. I liked none. Then I passed a 2002 convertible Corvette in a dealership parking lot. I went in and took it for a spin. I loved it, and I fit. I'm 6'5" and never thought a C5 would fit me. But I had never been in one.
The dealer price was of course, high, and taxes, etc. made the price even higher, so I passed on that one, but the hook was set. I now wanted a Vette. BTW, did you know dealers now try to sell you a "de-germ" package on a used car? It's almost $1,000. For what? I don't know. I'm sure it's nothing that can't be solved with a bottle of Windex and a roll of paper towels.
Anyway, I have been looking for a month, when I came across the car above. I took it for a spin last week while I was passing through Yuma, and decided to make a deal on it.
Here's the standard intro stuff....

Live in Phoenix, Az. Been in Az. since 1990. I grew up in Mass.
I'm a computer geek for a living, although I am the least geeky geek you will ever meet.
My primary love is motorcycles, but I've always been a motorhead, spending many years as the victim of AMC ownership. And it was a car I owned for 30 years, and only drove four of those years.
I am either an avid amateur photographer, or a semi-pro. I guess it depends on how you look at it. I'll post up some pics here and there as time passes. I'm a Canon fan.
Hope this is a good start. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions which have already been asked.
