I don't think Carfax is good for vehicles more than 10 years old. There are many ways to try to get the information but few that work. Usually it is people that have the car and they are trying to find the original or previous owners. Luck plays a very big part in the equation. 1. Check with the local and surrounding states DMV. Because of privacy acts many will not release this information. Some will. 2. Place some notices online here the Corvette Action center, Digital Corvettes, and any other Corvette forum you can find. 3.NCRS has a monthly publication called Driveline that has many of these ads. The ads are free for members so if you find a member ask him to post and ad for you. If you have any info re the car, papers, pictures, etc the current owner would jump at the cahnce to talk to you if he sees the notice. 4. Track the car from owner to owner. Start with your father. Who did he sell it to?
