Hey busnut, I looked at pulling the front clip, but that would set me back quite a bit, time wise. A can of worms I'm not ready to open yet.

Hey if you can't raise the engine, how about lowering the car. Somewhere in this thread I thought you said you had a backhoe. Dig a trench wide enuf for the car, then you can lower the engine down into it. Just a thought. Good luck.

Ya know, I thought about that too. I think I'll stick with extending the pod legs though. BTW, I'm takin' a series of pics, and will post them when I'm done with the install.

I picked up the pipe today. Walked out of the store with the pipe in hand and a grin on my face. Can't wait for Saturday!

Went to get the clutch assembly today. It took some real explainin' to get the right parts. First, I asked for the clutch assmebly for a '70 Vette with a 454. He brought one out, and sure enough, too many splines. "Well, ya see", ah says, " It's an '80 L82 with a '78 454 out of a truck, and it has a 3 sp stick w/od from a '56 Chevy Belaire." I never seeen such a confused parts man. (kid in his early twenties) I said, "O. K., just give me a clutch assembly with a 10 tooth spline." He says, "what brand of tranny do ya have?, I need that info to find the clutch assembly ya need." Ah tells him to look up the clutch for an mid '50's Chevy, Saginaw 3 sp w/od." He went back in the isles and I could hear him talkin' to the manager. Luckily, he was an old motor head like me, came out, punched up a few numbers, and said, "It'll be here about 8:30am." "Cool!", ah says.

Got the clutch assembly yesterday, after work. It's now 7:20 am here in Reno, Nv. The sun is shining, and expecting low 80's today. No snow in the forecast. After a quick breakfast, I'm out the door. I'll update progess to y'all, but be patient. I'm not in a hurry, just determined.
