hey everyone, i have a 79 vette, that when i drive it for a while, it starts to get a lot of heat inside, especially towards the bottom at one's feet. I need to know what to do to fix it. If anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it. Thanks!

A few pages back in this forum, they have the exact discussion on this.  It involves installing a shut off valve going to the heater core to stop the heat going into the engine compartment.  You can get the valve at NAPA.  It is in the C3 forum somewhere.

Besides getting rid of the heater core heat, you can add insulation under the carpet.  If you want to go crazy, you can cut some pieces of the foil backed foam insulation they use on houses and put it on the outside of the floor pan and lower firewall.  I know this helps because when I put the 69 side exhaust on mine, there was two pieces of the rigid insulation that slipped between the outside of the frame rail and the lower part of the body.  Made a difference.

I second 73 shark reply.  I got material from home depot at fraction of cost that Ecklers post, when I replaced carpert.  I also put material under center consol which got warm in my 68. Reduced heat by more than 50%.

Just don't forget to run your insulation as far up the inside of the firewall as possible.
