I stopped and spoke with a guy with a brand new Z06 today and we talked for a few minutes. We did not race because he had his wife with him and he was going to a movie and I was on my way home. He did say that he would run me and that he is stock. How do you guys think the outcome with be after we race? Chances are it will not be from a dig because he ran a buddy of mine and it was on the interstate, however, it is up to him...dig or roll. I have an 04 Cobra with a 2.2L Kenne Bell blowzilla with supporting mods, lowered, and 335's in the rear. It made 606rwhp on pump gas and I have raced mid-high 10 second camaro's, C5 Z06's (modded), blown C6, blown GTS Viper, and Ford GT's. I have had success with all those runs and car still runs just as strong if not stronger. I am full time pump gas and stock weight. Just curious of what you corvette drivers would think...

I would think you would beat him, no offense here but if cobras werent such fat pigs your car would be scary fast. I think the c6 z would need headers, a tune and maybe a 50 shot to beat you though. Whats the rule when racing the style cobra you have vs vettes? I think the cobras need something like 70 more rwhp to win. All though we had some kid with a modded out 04 Cobra talking crap to a guy that just bought a new c6 z06. The guy with the cobra said he was putting down like 650 rwhp and the new z06 only had headers and a tune. Guess who won and infront of a bunch of people that came out to see the race no less.

I think it would be close, but you definately have a slight advantage: about 33% more power (606 to about 450 RWHP) and probably only about 20-25% more weight. In addition, while the ZO6 has 505 HP stock it doesn't have as fat a low end torque curve as one would think (as an example, my C5R 427, NA, produces only 50 more RWHP than a stock C6ZO6 but 100 more torque). With the KB you have a world of low end grunt and would walk away from him right off the line if you get traction. If I were him and I had the choice of what type of race to run, I'd pick a rolling start from 100 mph -- your car probably has more than 33% more air resistance and I doubt it can run up to the stock ZO6's 198 mph top speed: that would be his only chance.

I'm assuming that you mean a straight line race? I think anything with curves would put the vette way out in front.

Yeah it's a shame that the guy's a dick. I guess you'll have that sometimes. Personally, I'd let it go. Logically, the numbers are in your favor. Besides, isn't street racing illegal? It is where I live.

ORIGINAL: Screamin Cobra Yeah, chances are is that it will happen on the Interstate. There are not really any roads that are curvy that we can run on. The closest AutoX is like 2 hours. He was knocking me and a buddy of mine who has a SVT Lightning at one point in time saying that my Cobra is not worth a sh!t and how I am not even in his league. lol I do not bad mouth others and their ride, however, I am ready to settle this asap and will have videos of everything. I love the new C6 Z06's and vettes, I even used to have a C5. I am ready to put the hurt'n on this guy though because he seems to be somewhat arrogant and very proud of his Z. Btw, his wife is beautiful. Here is a vid of a c6z vs a kb cobra. The z06 is putting down 496 rwhp and the kb cobra is putting down 590 rwhp. Again guess who wins; I wouldn't get your hopes up of put n a hurt on him just yet. I think you will still beat him but it will be closer than you think, basically 100 rwhp difference and the vette pulls atleast 1 car in both races. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVQZDksf-Io

My Cobra weighs about 3200lbs. max and I''m pushing 610 RWHP/565 RWTQ. I''ll be on Weld Magnum Pro 2.0 bigs and littles with Mickey Thompson ET Streets.
