I was recently loking at a corsa axhauct cat back. just pipes no mufflers. was wondering, how would that differ than if i just remove my mufflers and finish the pipes out the back like a normal tail pipe just eliminating the muffler? Is that not the same difference as the corsa? Looking for a more potent sound whn not hammering. the z06 exhaust sounds great, but like it to sound a bit more rad when not hammering on it.
shoot mea couple suggestions.
thanks in advance

I don't know which Corsa you are looking at.  Several manufacturers make straight pipes with no mufflers.  If you run cats (I would and do -- it's the law), these exhausts are loud but not at all like open pipes - cats act something like mufflers and so the sound is tolerable (well, your neighbors might not agree, but no doubt you would).

Corsa and others also make something that looks very much like a straight pipe system (i.e., it has no mufflers at all just pipes), that has ripple chambers inside the pipes -- a chambered exhaust.  This is nearly as loud although the sound is generally much better (see below).

One thing to keep in mind is that the completely unmuffled sound of a modern V8 is not particularly attractive.  It has a good deal of high, barking and quite crackly sound to it, not anywhere near the low, deep muscle-car rumble most people are seeking (in the 70s those sounds came from a combination of seven+ liters of displacement, big valves with relatively shallow openings, low RPMs (only about 3/4's of today's RPMs) wide header pipes, and long chambered exhausts.

An optionyou might think of is to install QTP electric cutouts on your car.  These are electric coutouts operated with a switch inside the car -- you can open them fully or just a bit.  Installed well either ahead of the cats (or just behind, or instead of), and keeping your present cat back they give you the option of quiet when you want that (on long trip, starting up early in the morning while the neighbors are still asleep), but you can open them partially of fully for asmuch sound as you want.  Cost to have them done right (welded in by a good shop) probably costs about as much as a new, full catback.  The fit is tighty and they must be welded in just so, and the wires insulated against heat and routing just right, for it all to work well - but its worth it.  You can go from very quiet to very very loud, or back, in four seconds, anytime you want.

ok, thanks, i just figured no reason to replace my pipes them selves since they are or appear to be ti.
i am not increasing to tons of hp. so diameter seems good enough. I just want it a bit more rad sounding.
anyone make  mufflers that i can replace the factory ones with. i figured leaving the cats and removing mufflers would sound good. but it may be obnoxious and not sound well. how about flowmaster??
