When I first got my 02 C5Z06, stock at the time. Went from a roll against my buddies 01 Ws6 with a G5x3 cam, Lsx fast 90 intake/nick williams tb, full exhaust with open borla, full shock-hals and suspension with 4.10 gears.Dynoed 402rwhp and 380rwtq.  Started at 50mph, both of us in third. Could of started in second but was a really cool night and he was on nittos, both cars wouldn't hook in seconnd at 50mph. We were dead even till I shifted into 4th, 100mph and started to pull away. The other times we went, one of us got the little jump, the first time was the best since we both got on it at the same time.

I sure hope Lee believes me.

Lee is done with the forums. Sounds like it was a pretty even race even though you were down about 35-40 hp. Do ws6s weigh a bit more than a c5z?

Yes the f-bodies do weigh more than a couple hundred pounds more. When I had my 99 Ws6, weighed it at the track and was 3580, with 1/4 tank if I am not mistaken. Didn't get the chance to weigh the vette at the track when i went. Although I have heard from most guys around 3100 pounds with a 1/8 tank in the car. I'm sure I had at least a 1/2 tank in mine when we raced, he had 1/2 tank also. He was surprised so he sold his Ws6 and bought a 03 Z06, lol. He was looking to get out of the car anyways. Right now he has LG pro lt's, orxp, roller rockers and a vararam intake on it. I just put a MS4 cam, Kooks Lt's, orxp, ported fast 90, Ls2 tb, and a vararam on my 02 Z06. Can't wait to get it tuned and run a 500rwhp cobra.

You should waste a 500 hp cobra, im talking about at the engine. That means the car should be putting down about 440-450 hp. I will take a vette putting down 400 hp over a cobra putting down 450 hp any day because of the huge weight difference.

From what ive heard on the 500 hp cobra, and can't hang with a stock c6.  Mustangs aren't light anymore, and with bracing and plumbing for the forced induction that thing is about 3800 lbs.  One magazine also questioned where all those ponies were.  After all, lets not forget Ford had to recall one of its special mustangs a few years back because they overrated the power, lol.

Speaking of mustangs, the GT500 is the biggest joke ever... i hate FORD. I will DRAG, DESTROY,or HUMILIATE a stock GT500 in my stock c5 Z any time.

I am not sure where you got your facts but I built a 01 Cobra and it was set with all the bracers and a straight axle...the works and only weight 3,500 lbs. not near 3,800. It was dyno at 557 hp and was a great drag car...I just wish I saved all the money I spent on the Cobra and put it in the C5.
