OK Dave, so what your telling me is that the spring and the trailing arm are pretty much in contact with each other. On the older models the spring is separated from the trailing arm with the link which is about 6-8 inches long. If the spring is below the trailing arm then I would think your theory would work, longer bolt and a bushing of some sort.

Yes, according to the diagram, the spring and trailing arm are mounted directly to each other. The spring is mounted below the trailing arm, with no spacer or bushing.

All-righty then, that should work on the rear no matter what year it is, and I agree with you on the front spring thing about not using the torch, just was thinking about the low cost options for our members.

My Vette is an '80, so I can't speak on the prior C3's, concerning this issue of the rear spring mounting. Hey Jeff, Is any of this makin' any sence to ya? We're tryin' Bro.

Whew!, I guess if I were a little more observant I would have caught on to the fact that he was also joining us on the post, my bad allill. So you can put in longer link bolts in the rear and drop it as much as you want, I would also replace the bushings that the link rides in.

Dave, It's making sense, I need to get this done before I get my car back. As for the fronts, are there lowered springs I can buy or shall my springs get cut? Once my car gets done I will post photos, might be a few weeks.

Yup, you can buy shorter springs. I'll have ta do a search for who carries them. Seems to me I read, in another post, that Camero springs will work. Don't know the length options. I'll look around.
