Good stuff :)

Question about the torque converter. Will I have to remove the engine from my 76 to change the TC or can I drop the transmission without pulling the engine?

Yes, you can just pull the tranny, but you'll want to block up the rear of the engine, or you can crush your distributor cap against the fire wall.
