professional does it-you have someone to blame if it goes wrong or you rip the material

you do it-........... well lets just say you might be a little bit upset with your self

Assuming you are starting with the bare frames after they've been reconditioned, about a half day if you have the two tools I mentioned previously.

A furnature recovery shop might do it for a fair price. I had new covers, foam, wires and they installed ecklers seat bottom frame repair plate (39161) on mine, cost $ 200. for both. PG>

Depends on the condition.  Most roadsters are going to be more rusty than coupes.  If mild rust, wire brush and paint.  Heavier rust might require blasting.  Also the springs might require replacing if severely rusted.

Hey all,

Just my 2 cents. Before you start to wrestle with covering the seat backs, I always use some spray lubricant on the foam to help the cover slip on easier and more even.  It is a trick that the upholstery shops use all of the time, whether they tell you or not.  You can also use a plastic bag from your dry cleaning tied at the top over the foam seatback with a vacuum to compress the foam to make installation easier.  Works great on headrests. Just go step-by-step, hog clipping as you go.

Hope it helps!
