well a friend of mine said he knows where there is a clean 69 coupe with no engine/trans that was a 350/auto said it has a nice body but the tail panel where the exhaust cut outs are is craked and the paint is a little faded. the interior is in descent shape seems to be all there other than motor and trans, chrome is fair, the guy is askin 5000 but my friend said its been there for almost a year and its in a trailer park, said i could probably get it for 2500-3000 if i had cash?
i was thinkin if nothin else i could part it for 5000
or drop a spare 350/350 i have lying around in it? so dose that seem reasonable?

It's in a trailer park?  Offer $1000.00 or two cases of beer!  Betcha he takes the beer!

Offer 2.5 g's, if he baulks, walk away. If it's a deal, drop in a 350 and a tranny, and sell it for 4.5 g's. You make 2 g's and the new owner has gotten a good deal.
Or keep it, I would.

( It'll take ya forever to get your money back by partin' it out. Then you've got a shell you have to pay some body to haul off. All or nuthin' is my opinion.)

Sounds like an almost numbers matching diamond-in-the-rough.

Two and a half cases of beer and he throws in the gal with the gold front tooth.

well the in the trailer park is what worries me!! i can see wire harness removed with side cutters and motor and trans mounts cut with a saws all or torch!!
I bought a 69 nova from a trailer park with no motor/trans about 8 yrs ago and all wires were cut at firewall, had a 80 monte carlo bench seat in it?? headlights were wired with lamp cords I mean they cut cords off of lamps or other household items and spliced them into the harness???
Bubba lives in a trailer!!
i will go check it out and let you know after the holidays!!

Yup, that's how Bubba wired my C3.
I'm just surprised he didn't use wall plugs for connections in the fire wall.

$2500 and a six pack of bud... still leaves enough for a new wiring harness from Painless.  Sounds like a deal to me!!!  You don't find those deals here in Montana... ever.
