I replaced the e-brake system from the front cable back on an 81 Vette and since then the brake light on the console stays on. Is there something that I can reset to turn it off? I think it may have come on because the pedal went to the floor when I first tried the brakes. The slack in the rear pads had to be taken back up, but the pedal is solid now and the brakes work just fine. Plenty of fluid in the master cylinder. Plenty of pad all around? How do I test the switch for the e-brake handle? Thanks, Ron Madurski

iT SEEMS THAT YOU HAVE TWO DIFFRENT PROBLEMS, THE HAND BRAKE OR E-BRAKE IS A DIFFRENT SYSTEM FROM THE HYD. BRAKES. THE ONLY THING THEY HAVE IN COMMON IS THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS. IF THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR THERE IS A PROBLEM SOMEWHERE IN THE HYD. SYSTEM. THIS SHOULD BE CHECKED OUT ASAP, THIS IS ONE SYSTEM THAT NEEDS TO WORK 100% OF THE TIME. HOPE THIS HELPS.
