pg,  Thanks for helping out.  It's a trip to me that the 'Vettes were MFGd into October.  I wonder if it has to do with demand or parts left on-hand.
I don't have that code number(that I see) on the driver door, but I do have a (print-out) code sheet that was on the window with the dealer sticker. The print-out has a "job sequence number" which is; C0046567.  Below, "scheduled number and date" is; 03-4391
06-18.       Just exactly how I typed it, one set of numbers over the other.  The "4391" are the last four digits of the VIN.
By the serial #s you listed (are they to do with the last 6 digits of the VIN?) it looks like (if I'm understanding this correctly) my car was the 3,699th. 'Vette off the assembly line at the Ky. plant and 4,604 from the end of the run for the year of '81.  And maybe I'm off in La-La land with my thinking.
Thanks again for the help.  Please let me know if the numbers I listed mean anything to you.
I'll let you guys know what I get back from the "plant site" as to the questions I asked.  If it's worth anything, maybe it would be interesting and beneficial for the guys who had their 'Vette MFGd there to enter their info.

The information came from R. Prince's Corvette Restoration Guide, if I can find out more I'll post it. PG.

If your vin # is 1G1A876?B5104391 than your cars birthday is Aug 21, 1981 and it was made in BG. does that seem correct to you? PG.
