I'm looking for a little help from you guy's that have built small block strokers. I'm using an Eagle cast crank w/3.75 stroke and the factory 5.7 in. rods, this is an internally balanced rotating assembly. It's fitted to a mid seventies 350 block, will the stock 350 oil pan clear the crank or do I need a stroker pan or will a pan from a small block 400 be any different than the 350 pan? Also while I'm on the subject, in a 350 build-up a few years ago I used a big block oil pump with a pick-up that fit the small block pan, do you know if this kit is still available, I know I used a Melling pump, I guess I could call them to see what they have. Thanks.

Yes a stock pan is fine. Believe it or not, we used my old steel stock pan from my 350 block and "clearanced" it for the longer stroke. In simpler terms, a hammer was used to bend some of the metal on the baffles in the pan to make room for the longer stroke, after a test fit all was fine. Good luck with your build! Post some pics of your progress if you can, we eat 'em up on the forum!

Thanks for the info DV8, did you have to clearance the pan at the rails or just the baffle? I'll be shopping for a new pan but I want a plain steel job and don't see the need for the high dollar so called stroker pans.

Sorry, I don't remember.....  We modified whatever wasn't clearing after the test fit. I do remember that it did not take much doing....

OK, thanks for the help, it can't need much to clear since it's only a 1/4 in. more stroke than stock.
