Bowling Green C3 ?? - 1/17/2008 3:49:42 PM    Ric   Posts: 134 Joined: 9/24/2005 Status: offline As much reading as I have done on the Corvette. The 82 model year I didn't know was built at Bowling Green KY. The article said the first full production year was 1982. Does this mean some 1981 C3's could have bin built at Bowling Green and some not? Wonder ware the Star Ship started its life? RE: Bowling Green C3 ?? - 1/18/2008 2:49:32 AM    watwheel Posts: 303 Joined: 9/9/2006 From: Michigan Status: offline Gm moved production of the corvette to Bowling Green in June of 1981 and closed the St. Louis plant in August of 1981.  I believe 1981 models were split between the two plants if I recall.  I could be wrong though as I didn't research it.  Just recalling from memory, which at this age is probably not a good thing to do. Then the production was moved to St. Louis. Have you looked at the trim tag on the drivers door? It gives the interior color, the car color, and a three letter and number code to help you figure out the date the car was made. On mine it's J01 for May 1, 1974, do you have that? Hope this helps, PG.
