I am new on this forum and i am hoping someone on here can steer me in the right direction as to the directions to remove the heater core in my 67 vette. This car has sat for 20 years and i want to replace the heater core and the evaporator core. I have removed the evaporator core and now trying to get to the heater core. I pulled the glove box and the a/c duct. I also pulled the inspection cover on the heater box. Can't even see the core from there. Will i have to pull the dash to get the whole heater box out to get to the heater core?

Got no replies so far. Oh well i did get the heater core removed yesterday. Not too bad, but not any extra room to spare getting it out from under dash. I did have to remove the glove box and also the radio which made it a lot easier to see everything. I had to remove the a/c duct work first and there is one 1/2" nut to remove from the inside. It is located up on the firewall next to the kick panel. the rest of the fastners(4) were under the hood. They are the ones that hold the evaporator to the firewall. If you are just doing the heater core you don't need to dis-connect the the a/c lines from the evaporator core.
Hopes this helps someone else down the road.

glad ya fixed it.i couldnt help ya but i felt sorry for ya.i was 29 years selfemployed in auto repair and some core jobs i just sent to the rad .shop.some old fords you could do a core in 20 mins. 2 hoses and 6 screws .other cars like a dat. 280 z or 300z were over 8 hrs labor and that was before ya talked to god.67 vette i dont think i would have even looked at it but it sounds like it wasnt too bad.ya never can tell
